Sabo PR Recognized as One of Michigan 50 Companies to Watch
Sabo PR has been recognized as one of the 2023 Michigan 50 Companies to Watch by Michigan Celebrates Small Business.
Companies nominated for the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch Award must be second-stage companies, defined as having six to 99 full-time-equivalent employees and generating $750,000 to $50 million in annual revenue or working capital from investors or grants. Additionally, the companies must be privately held and headquartered in Michigan.
Sabo PR will be recognized at the in-person awards ceremony during the 19th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business Gala on May 2. More than 800 guests are expected to gather at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan to celebrate the achievements of this year’s award recipients.
“MCSB has always prided itself on its spirit of collaboration and celebration,” said Board Chair Jennifer Deamud. “We love seeing our awardees celebrating one another’s success and sharing in this amazing moment is each awardee’s journey. It’s true – success is best when it is shared.”
Judges from economic and entrepreneurship development organizations annually select the winners. The judges evaluate the nominees’ demonstration of intent and capacity to grow based on the following:
- Employee or sales growth
- Exceptional entrepreneurial leadership
- Sustainable competitive advantage
- Other notable factors that showcase the company’s success
Michigan Celebrates annually receives hundreds of nominations for the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch award. In addition to a competitive landscape for this award, the businesses who are selected by the judges go through a rigorous due diligence process prior to the final decision.
“We are honored to be recognized as one of the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch,” said Mary Ann Sabo, founder and president of Sabo PR. “As we celebrate our 20th anniversary of providing exceptional communication support to businesses, municipalities, nonprofits and education providers, we are particularly gratified to be recognized. This is truly a team effort, and we look forward to celebrating as a team at the awards ceremony in May.”
Sabo PR got its start in January 2003 providing media relations, crisis and issues management, internal communications and related services to organizations in West Michigan. The company has grown steadily over the last 20 years and is now an integrated communications firm that provides a suite of human-centered, tailored communication solutions for stakeholder engagement, issues management, marketing communications and visual services to Michigan’s leading businesses, municipalities and organizations.
